The educational project “Fire Safety in Schools” was implemented from 2017 to 2019 in educational institutions in Odesa, in close cooperation with the State Emergency Service of Ukraine. Psychologists from the SES and safety specialists conducted interactive sessions for schoolchildren, teaching them how to act correctly in dangerous situations.

Children were taught in simple and clear language how to behave during a fire, properly call emergency services, and assist those in need. They also learned what to do in case of panic in a crowd, how to protect themselves, and how to look after their classmates.

The sessions were conducted in the form of games and trainings — schoolchildren took on the role of rescuers, practiced evacuation procedures, and trained in providing first aid. This approach made the learning process not only engaging but also highly effective.
