French director Emmanuel Rondeau has created the documentary “The Healing Power of Nature,” which explores rewilding as an approach to ecosystem restoration. At the same time, the film highlights how time spent in nature supports Ukrainian veterans and their families in recovering from difficult experiences.
An important part of the film is an interview with veteran Oleksii Galkin and his daughter Ksenia. They share their impressions of participating in a rehabilitation camp in the Danube Delta, held within the hashtag#Aid4Heroes Project. Their story and genuine emotions from being in nature can be seen in the film starting from 4:53.
Over the past six months, the NGO “National Council of Healthcare and Safety” has organized five such camps for veterans and their families. Four of them took place in Vylkove, and one in the Carpathians. Participants had the opportunity to recover, change their environment, and receive support through shared experiences and connection with nature.
